Hunting Format – How the hunt will work
PRELIMINARY ROUNDS - Each dog will get 2 runs, one each day for the first 2 days. It will be the total of your two runs that will determine if you move on to the semi-finals.
If you are in Field #1 you will hunt in that field the first 2 days. You will only compete against the other competitors in your field. If you draw a morning slot the first day you will be in the afternoon the second day and vice versa.
Depending on how many hunters are competing in each field during the first 2 days there will be a number that will qualify for the Semi-Finals from each field. (Example if there are 16 in each field the top 5 in each field will qualify for the Semi-Finals There will also be Lucky Dogs and Buy Back Dogs for the Semi-Finals.
If you are entering more than 1 dog in this event, during the PRELIMINARY ROUNDS ONLY each one of your runs will be in a different field. (Example if you enter 4 dogs you will be in 4 different fields.
The SEMI-FINALS - will consist of up to 3 fields. Each field will be split into morning and afternoon runs. The Top 2 contestants from the morning and afternoon runs in each field will qualify for the FINALS. This will be 1 run, 4 birds/20 minutes.
Finals – We will draw for positions following the Semi-Finals. In the FINALS you will have 2 runs in 2 different fields. Each run will be 4 birds/15 minutes. It will be the total score of both your runs that will determine the winner.
Each Hunter can only run a maximum of 4 different dogs. Each dog can only enter once.
There will be no back to back runs. If you have multiple dogs entered your runs will be separated by 2 runs if possible.
